"Ako yung tipo ng lider na inoobserve ko muna. Pinag-aaralan ko muna yung environment ko bago ako magdecide. I'm a typical leader but I review first the rights of the students.", said the newly elected University Student Government (USG) President, Alex Francis O. Bose as he described how he is as a leader.
Alex, a fifth year Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) student, from P.R.I.D.E. (Party of Responsible Individuals Driven for Excellence) ng Bayan, also the founding president of the Student Assistant Association, earned the trust of the student last Halalan 2017.
In an interview regarding with the plans for his administration, he stated that he will assure the execution of the platforms for batch 2017-2018.
One of his talked about platforms is the USG-sponsored financial grant for those deserving college and senior high school students. Part of his honorarium will be allotted for this program according to him.
Also his main priority is the transparency for the fees in order for the students to know where their money really goes.
Moreover, he also stated that the USG open for the studens' complaints and suggestions.
When we asked about what legacy he wants to be remembered for, this is his response, "Ayaw kong ako lang yung makilala ng mga estudyante. Gusto ko makilala 'yong buong set of officers ng USG. Makikilala kami dahil naipakita namin sa mga estudyante yung best namin at naipakita talaga ang pagbabago sa Pamantasan ng Cabuyao."
In his half term as USG President, USG actively involved in many university activities, launched programs and had filed resolutions.
The student assistants' allowance increased from 20PHP to 45PHP per hour under the Board Resolution No. PnC-2017-093
Also, USG successfully granted the planned Scholarship Assistance under his platform to seven students, one student per college.
